What we believe

  • The Bible is the perfect Word of God written for man's guidance and instruction.
  • In one eternal God who reveals Himself in three distinct persons, Father, Son and Holy; Spirit.
  • In creation, in Adam and Eve, in the fall of man and in our own inability to be acceptable to God.
  • In Jesus Christ, who is God and yet who came as a perfect man to re-unite man with God.
  • Jesus was crucified, died for our faults, was buried and rose again on the third day.
  • Jesus appeared before many people before bodily being raised to heaven. Jesus will return again as King for His people.
  • God, who is perfect, wants a loving relationship with each person. As imperfect people, we can only be made acceptable and enjoy relationship with God through acknowledging Jesus Christ as the son of God, asking His forgiveness for all the wrong things we have done and asking Him to be ruler of our lives.
  • Water baptism, being fullly immersed in water and described in the bible, to be the next necessary step as an outward sign of what has happened in our heart
  • In the baptism of the Holy Spirit as an experience that is distinct and available to all who have already given their lives over to God. Evidence of this gift is the ability to "speak in tongues" as described in the New Testament.
  • In the operation of the Gifts of the Spirit as listed in the bible and practiced by the early church.
  • In the importance of living a life which pleases God, that we are part of the world but not adopting the standards of the world, helped by God to live a better life.
  • That God wants to heal the sick and does heal as seen in the bible.
  • That God wants His people to remember the ultimate sacrifice Jesus made for us. We do this when we have Communion with the bread representing his body broken for us and the wine, His blood shed for us.
  • That we are eternal beings who will live for ever, either with God in heaven which will be more wonderful then we can ever imagine; or in hell, separated from God and more terrible than we can imagine.
  • The devil and his angels (followers) are real and we be eternally punished.

We also believe

  • God wil use the church to increase His rule on earth until Jesus comes back.
  • As written in the bible, the church leadership consists of elders with a senior elder heading it up. Leaders must demonstrate maturity of character as described in the bible.
  • Each church is responsible for running it's own affairs though should relate to other churches.
  • Each believer in Christ (Christian) needs to be part of a local church where he can grow and belong.
