Our Vision

Vision is the ability to see what is to be and gives us direction, focus and stability. The Bible tells us that “without vision we shall perish”.

Here at The Link Church, our vision is to build a large, exciting mature Church whose members love God and one another whilst reaching out to the wider community.

We believe we are on a journey and that the Lord is building and restoring the church according to His pattern as laid down in the bible. When Jesus returns, He is coming back for a victorious, powerful and pure church.

The heart then, of this church, is for growth. It is to see people of all ages coming to know Jesus as their Lord and Saviour and to be able to enjoy a close, intimate relationship with Him. It is to see a glorious, united church which will make a difference in this land. Nothing else will satisfy, will give us the love, peace, joy and purpose we all desire for our life.

What We Believe

  • The Bible is the perfect Word of God written for man's guidance and instruction.
  • In one eternal God who reveals Himself in three distinct persons, Father, Son and Holy; Spirit.
  • In creation, in Adam and Eve, in the fall of man and in our own inability to be acceptable to God.
  • In Jesus Christ, who is God and yet who came as a perfect man to re-unite man with God.
  • Jesus was crucified, died for our faults, was buried and rose again on the third day.
  • Jesus appeared before many people before bodily being raised to heaven. Jesus will return again as King for His people.
  • God, who is perfect, wants a loving relationship with each person. As imperfect people, we can only be made acceptable and enjoy relationship with God through acknowledging Jesus Christ as the son of God, asking His forgiveness for all the wrong things we have done and asking Him to be ruler of our lives.
  • Water baptism, being fullly immersed in water and described in the bible, to be the next necessary step as an outward sign of what has happened in our heart
  • In the baptism of the Holy Spirit as an experience that is distinct and available to all who have already given their lives over to God. Evidence of this gift is the ability to "speak in tongues" as described in the New Testament.
  • In the operation of the Gifts of the Spirit as listed in the bible and practiced by the early church.
  • In the importance of living a life which pleases God, that we are part of the world but not adopting the standards of the world, helped by God to live a better life.
  • That God wants to heal the sick and does heal as seen in the bible.
  • That God wants His people to remember the ultimate sacrifice Jesus made for us. We do this when we have Communion with the bread representing his body broken for us and the wine, His blood shed for us.
  • That we are eternal beings who will live for ever, either with God in heaven which will be more wonderful then we can ever imagine; or in hell, separated from God and more terrible than we can imagine.
  • The devil and his angels (followers) are real and we be eternally punished.

We also believe

  • God wil use the church to increase His rule on earth until Jesus comes back.
  • As written in the bible, the church leadership consists of elders with a senior elder heading it up. Leaders must demonstrate maturity of character as described in the bible.
  • Each church is responsible for running it's own affairs though should relate to other churches.
  • Each believer in Christ (Christian) needs to be part of a local church where he can grow and belong.

Becoming A Christian

God, who is perfect, wants a loving relationship with each person. However, every one of us has done wrong and this has separated us from God. No matter what we do on our own, we cannot know God and be acceptable to Him. Jesus Christ, the Son of God came to re-unite man with God. He became a perfect sacrifice by dying for us on a cross. He took away all of our faults, all of the things we’ve ever done wrong, rising from the grave He conquered death. Only through acknowledging Jesus as the Son of God, asking His forgiveness for al the wrong things we have done and asking Him to be ruler of our lives, can we become a Christian and enjoy the relationship with God we were created for. Then we can enjoy, not only abundant life today, but know we will live forever with Him.

If you would like to become a Christian today, then find a quiet place on your own or link up with a good Christian friend. Sincerely and honestly pray (talk) to God covering the 4 points listed below. As you do that, you can be sure that not only does Jesus hear you but that He answers you.

I acknowledge I have done things wrong which have separated me from God I acknowledge Jesus Christ as the Son of God I ask His forgiveness for all I’ve done wrong I ask Jesus to come into my life and be the ruler of my life forever

You have just made the greatest decision of your life!

Now you have become a Christian, it is important that you settle in a good Church (meet other Christians) read the Bible (start with the New Testament) and pray (talk to God). You will have many questions. That’s where we come in!

Please feel free to contact our Pastor, a Youth Leader or Ladies Leader and share your good news with us.
